Magazine Analysis

   

Just by looking at these three magazine covers we can see that Indie Rock is very focused on the artist and the band as a group. This can be seen throughout the magazines as the band want to convey that they are a collective, that nobody is more important then another showing the bond they have through the use of medium shots. This cohesion is important for the band as they want to reflect this onto their audience as their success would be nothing without them.This is consistent across all the front cover which demonstrates that this is a really important aspect of the genre and therefore Matt and I will use this when producing our own to conform with the stereotypes. 

The font used by these magazine articles are very bold making a clear impression on the reader. This could demonstrate the values of the the band as it consumes a large proportion of the text cover. From this font size we can conclude that this is most likely to be the headline meaning the most important feature of this magazine is the band. This again shows how important the band as a whole is. The font is very basic, the block letters suggests that the band are also basic. The font reflects the band as they are normal people just like their audience. We can use this style of font in our own product to conform with the conventions of the genre.

Regarding the institutional information on the magazine article, it is the same as any article already. They all consist of a bar code, issue number, price and website which is an necessity for a cover of a article and therefore we will include all these when producing our own magazine. This will make our media product more realistic and believable as it uses the basic features that all magazines use.
