Editing Session 3

In this editing session I uploaded the shots of me holding the lighter with the flame in slow motion. Once all three clips had uploaded to Final Cut Pro X I inserted them into the actual video to determine which shot fit best. The third clip of footage worked better with the other shots and so I used this on. As the shot was in slow-motion it was extremely long at one minute seven seconds therefore I had to use the blade tool to shorten the length to fit. After the shot was the correct length I had space to experiment with the shot. I wanted to amplify the fire flickering so I decided to put a filter over the footage. I initially used the monochrome filter to match the rest of my music video however the fire was not as effective. I then had the idea to use the blade tool to create small shots of the same footage to continue the smooth transition through the music video. On the very other shot I inserted a monochrome filter so it was going back and forth between colour and monochrome. This gave the impression that the shot itself was actually flickering mimicking the fire.
